Greg Powers [mailto:microgreg@...] >I'm wondering if anyone on this list has had good (or bad) results??? Greg, I use it stand-alone and in Logic Win. I use 2 to 4 instances at a time in a project, mostly strings. Issues are: - hanging notes, it's a real nuisance and can interfere with the creative flow. - cannot reprogram patches which I don't like (e.g. remove clicks in looped parts of samples, reprogram samples that have a different timbre than the neighbor's) - cannot use CC11 (expression pedal) directly, volume is controlled by modwheel. Sounds are oke, some are really wonderfull, but some suffer from unbalance in timbres in some patches have small clicks in looped parts. But you can avoid these. It is a fine product by its concept. Pro's: - loads very fast - easy patch selection and performance modification - multi-timbral Bottom line: there is nothing that stands it in the way to using it in Logic Win. Feel free to ask more specific. A little OT: currently I wait for Giga3 to be available. I read that VSL made a deal with Tascam to bundle the orchestral edition with a broad selection of VSL instruments that use the new performance algorithms within the product. Not so cheap as GPO. But if you're looking for realism... Herbert @zepmusic.com www.zepmusic.com .:. Open Songwriters Community NL .:.
