This is a reply to #167555.
> I'm wondering what tools people use to master and burn cd's. I'm no guru, but I really like using isotope's Ozone to master. It's only available as a Windows plugin still, but I am a previous windows logic user, so I can still use Logic 5.5 for windows with Ozone. I was extremeley please with the smooth sparkly sound I got with ozone. The multiband compressor in particular is way easier to intuitively understand than Multipressor and is better sounding too IMO. It has good parametric EQ, mastering reverb, stereo widening and stereo image meters, mono checking, graphic analizer - lots of good tools for mastering. I use a couple of free plugins all the time when I'm tracking and mixing in 6.4.1: Elemental Audio Systems Inspector and PSP Vintage Meter. I especially like the PSP vintage meter - It's a retro style VU meter with programmable Reference level and needle response time. I use it to keep a handle on my mix levels and as a tool to help compare volumes between songs (of course using my ears as well)
