You can setup a key command for preset up/down but that's about what Logic
has to offer.
In case the virtual instrument of your choice comes with banks, you can load
them and then use standard MIDI program changes, but that would only work
for banks that you get from somewhere because Logic will not export to the
FXB format. Some instruments have their own preset exporting functions, so
in this case you may be lucky. In all other cases you're lost.
The EXS allows for a rather rudimentary patch up/down selection through MIDI
as well.
What an incredible shortcoming, if you ask me. There's allready some working
method for such things (the FXB method used by Steinberg and others), just
that apparently Emagic doesn't like this method (most likely because
Steinberg invented it). But instead of coming up with their own clever
solution all they do is nothing, nada, zilch. MIDI implementation and a
proper patch selection method for virtual instruments is close to
non-existing.
