In case the virtual instrument of your choice comes with banks, you can load them and then use standard MIDI program changes, but that would only work for banks that you get from somewhere because Logic will not export to the FXB format. Some instruments have their own preset exporting functions, so in this case you may be lucky. In all other cases you're lost. The EXS allows for a rather rudimentary patch up/down selection through MIDI as well. What an incredible shortcoming, if you ask me. There's allready some working method for such things (the FXB method used by Steinberg and others), just that apparently Emagic doesn't like this method (most likely because Steinberg invented it). But instead of coming up with their own clever solution all they do is nothing, nada, zilch. MIDI implementation and a proper patch selection method for virtual instruments is close to non-existing.
