What we need is the ability to change between "Chunks" or Songs within a single Song or Session. DP handles this beautifully, you have one session for an entire film and you can save each cue separately within the main session file and switch between them all quickly. Each maintains it's own start time and it's own tempo, time signature etc. We desperately need something like this in Logic, for many reasons. Mainly convenience and speed, but another big one would be loading your sample template and keeping it open all the time, and simply changing through the cues within the session without having to load any more samples. Another idea could be the ability to create a large sample template, and having some type of bypass that would have all the sample tracks available with the correct sample instruments chosen, but not necessarily loaded until bypass mode is turned off. This way at least all the sample instruments in one's palette can be pre-chosen, and then loaded upon request. As samples get bigger and bigger, there will be major necessity for solutions like this. The VSL library is only 1/5th of what it will be in about a year and a half, and it's already pushing 350gigs for what they currently have available. Jason Jason-greenberg.com
