I've found that Cubase SX (and especially SX v2) more than adequately fills
the void that Logic leaves behind.
But, you can't say, "this doesn't work like Logic", because it
doesn't.
Just like Logic doesn't work like SX. If you take it on it's own terms and
don't expect immediate miracles you will find many positives. SX has a
fully compensated bus system, there are no adjustments to be made, all
inserts, sends and FX buses are fully compensated. VST instruments work
much better. SX since version 1.03 has been rock solid.
Of course... some of it depends on your main use of the program, there's no
doubt in my mind that SX 2 has the superior audio features and
implementation, I still give nod to Logic's ergonomics and MIDI feature set.
However, I am finding that Cubase SX2 has closed the MIDI gap considerably.
The other positive is that Steinberg fully supports the PC platform.
