Note the most current 12" PowerBook comes with a 1.33ghz processor and 167mhz bus. This should mean a very noticeable improvement over the iBook's 1ghz processor and 133mhz bus. The PowerBook also has digital video out, which may be nice if you want to use an external monitor. Lastly, the iBook only supports monitor mirroring on an external monitor. There may be a hack somewhere, but not one which doesn't cause problems and void your warranty. The 12" PowerBook supports true monitor spanning on an external monitor. Factor in the, IMHO, better aesthetic design of the PowerBook (also the keyboard and screen quality are said to be better than the iBook) as well as slightly smaller and slightly less weight and the PowerBook wins hands down if I were to make that purchase right now.
