We run two UAD-1's and a Powercore Firewire here (in G5 dual 2GHz). Both are superb. Best thing about ditching Digi is you can use native, UAD and Powercore plugins in whatever configuration you want. UAD's compressors are unsurpassed IMO, and the EQ's are also excellent. Sony Oxford EQ on Powercore is a dream and the reverbs are also excellent. I also think TC's Intonator is excellent. I hear you on the whole Digi expense issue. ProTools is about brand - first and foremost. It's not that it isn't good, it's just that it's an easy way to spend twice as much as you need to, to get the tools and sound you want. Go for it! Jules
