The merging bug returned and we couldn't get rid of it no matter what VCACHE setting was used. It could have been machine specific but I doubt it. Here's the kicker, merging worked on his machine until he loaded large sample sets. I'm guessing that Logic makes use of the same memory (free mem below 512Meg) to load samples as well as other operations like merging audio files. Once that memory is used up, whether it be with the VACHE, samples or programs... Logic begins to run into low memory situations. It's "old" programming that probably worked fine in the days of Win95 and Win98. Howard
