I had the Lacie FW 250 hard drive from Hell! It died in OS9 & X(did the firmware upgrade).It would suddenly disappear from the desktop. I reformated it several times to no avail. I ended up backing up my project to iPod. I sent it back and got a new one.So far.........touch wood :-) Maybe you have a lemon drive Good luck jonboy
