MOTU can be back and forth about detailing what an update does or doesn't do... reoccuring nit on MOTU-Mac. You might want to drop them a note or call. I notice the 308 is not specifically mentioned either. Got one of those and a pair of 1224's on my MOTU rig at work, will most likely try 'em there. I had been having a problem with my 2408MK3 dropping offline at random times, but a reseat of the card after blowing out the slot with some canned air seems to have cured it... found out about the updated driver on a lark.
