I'm on a Mac, exchanging files regularly with a writing partner who uses Logic for Windows, so we ran into the same problem. I found that I can select the WAV files and the folders containing them all at once and change Ownership & Permissions using Get Info (command I) only once. I don't have to repeat the process for each file.
