This is a reply to #162596.

But if they are now getting into quite forward-looking things things like control surface interfacing, perhaps they might now consider it. Being able to remote control the 828 using standard MIDI or sysex messages (either via a driver's dedicated port, or using its physical MIDI sockets) would really open the possibilities of what you could do with the box. Being able to control and automate it using standard hardware without a computer, or using third-party interfacing software, or from the logic environment page would be great. > I would guess > not if it's based on DP, which can only use "real" ports present in > AudioMidi Setup. At the moment there's no obvious way to get control signals into the 828II except by plugging it into a computer, installing the drivers and then running CueMix over the top. That'sd obviously not so much of an issue if one is using the 828 as a computer audio interface, but in its alternative career as a stand-alone submixer that doesn't need a computer, MIDI remote control would be nice. It already has [16?] nameable onboard patch memories that you can write to and recall, but doing that requires a lot of tedious button pushing and twiddling. If you could recall those internal patch memories just by sending the device a standard MIDI program change command, suddenly you'd have a very useful piece of kit for gigging. Maybe someone could nudge them a little. I'm sure that they've already got it on their "things to do" list, but a little outside enquiry from a small software house might not hurt. ;)
