Before answering anything I must admit that I was wrong.
Bouncing from a master object set to "mono" actually results in a
"half-stereo" file. Over here (LAW 5.5.1) only the left side of
the panorama
is bounced. Surely not what you want from a "true" mono file. So
far I've
only been using mono bounces to sample virtual instruments - for these
purposes setting an output object to mono is sufficient (I usually turn off
all FX anyways, this includes panning stuff).

Quite a tough task sometimes, especially in case you have lots of
"other"
objects on your audio mixer enviromnent. That way you can't use CTRL-A
anymore but have to select each and every object manually.

Ah well, I think it is.
In case you're using lots of Aux objects it defenitely is, just for the
above mentioned reason.
Would be easier if the Dir Mixer would work on a mono master out as well.
Redirecting all objects to some bus might become quite a time consuming
thing as soon as you're dealing with complexed mixes, especially in case
when all you want is some "let's try this thing in mono" mix (and
especially
since such actions aren't un-doable). For me these things don't matter, I
allways bounce to stereo (unless I'm sampling things, see above) and do the
conversions afterwards - but there should be such an option anyways.

Sascha
