In your list you mention Waves, Phatmatik Pro and Absynth. I am using these with no problems in OSX at all. Please note that this is on a lowely G4 DP533 with RME HDSP. I have not experienced the problems mentioned regarding the NI stuff. (though I am waiting on GarritanPO to arrive and I believe it is of the NI family.)
