Probably because the LC and MC sysex strings differ by a single
"device ID" value. Sysex is only used for the LCD screen, so
everything else should work in LC mode. The bank/channel buttons
should work, they just send a note message.
Can CueMix use a "virtual" port for its control surface? I would
guess
not if it's based on DP, which can only use "real" ports present
in
AudioMidi Setup. This prevents a "MC Xmu" emulator for DP or
CueMix,
and would also prevent the use of an external midi app to simply
translate the MC<->LC sysex for the LCD in CueMix.
