Hi folks,
I spent most of January trying to get Logic to behave in OSX like I'm used
to in OS9.
Unfortunately it was a colossal waste of time, and I've been working happily
(and stable)
back in OS9 ever since. However, I'm anxiously awaiting the day that things
are working
the way they're advertised so I can finally make the leap. Specifically, I
would love to see
what your experiences are with the following, as they are all tools I can't
live without:
-Native Instruments Absynth, FM7 and the N.I. "players" that
EastWest and others use
-UAD & Powercore cards
-Spectrasonics Atmosphere, Stylus & Trilogy
-Phatmatic Pro
-Waves Gold/Platinum bundle
-Rewire'd stuff (Ableton Live, Reason)
This stuff all works flawlessly for me in OS9, and always has. Not to
mention, Logic's GUI
is wicked-fast, and the whole experience is as solid and stable as I could
ever want.
I'd really like to know specifically how this stuff runs on G5's, as I'm
still on a G4 (DP 1GHz
with 2GB RAM), running MOTU I/O hardware (two 1224's, two 2408's) on a new
PCI-424
card, as well as two Emagic AMT8's and Logic Control.
Any honest commentary welcome, but please don't waste your typing skills
trying to
convince me of OSX's superiority to OS9. I know that already - but
ultimately I'm getting
more work done without the constant crashing and general instability of
working in OSX,
which to me is incredibly ironic given OSX's many advantages...
Thanks in advance!
