Subject: sending MIDI clock out of Logic Pro (OS 10.3.3)
Message #162582
Hi, This is a dumb question maybe, and I read the manual, but it's not working. Please help. I have both an Evolution UC 33 and a Midisport 2 x 2 -- I keep the latter just for the heck of it. I use the UC 33 as my control surface. It has a midi-in and midi-out. I'm very visual, so I don't have any keyboards set up through it, just my software, which I control in Logic Pro using the UC 33 (I had to learn how to write environments, yeah, but now it works great). My friend came over with his laptop and I was trying to slave his set up to mine, but I couldn't for the life of me do it! I even tried using the simple Midisport, but no luck. I wasn't sending any MIDI data out. I don't even want anything fancy here -- I just want to be able to send clock data out, so I can be the master in a MIDI set up. I don't even care to control his stuff, just for him to be in rhythm with me setting the tempo. How do I do this? It sounds so basic, but yet I can't figure it out. I went to the Synchronization screen, but nothing I could do there helped. Do I have to write something in the environment just to do this? I was able to sync him fine in Reason, but I'd rather use Logic. Also, if you could, say, tell me how to get Logic Pro to use my MIDI synths (Casio CZ 101 and Korg Poly 800 II) as a controller, that would be awesome. please advise. many thanks, Dave
