i'll be in a similar position once the new revision G5s come out. I've never
heard of Apple's pro user fee, and doubt it would avoid having to
reauthorize your software and plugins.
in fact i don't think there's a surefire way to copy the stuff over without
having to reauthorize. at least with the XSKey it's a painless process.
as for your other software and plugins it all depends on the authorization
scheme. while it may be a little time-consuming I can't imagine it being a
problem provided you have your serial/registration numbers stored in a safe
place. Even those apps that require authorizing via Challenge/Response on
the web (Native Instruments, Spectrasonics) are pretty quick about getting
back to you with a response.
If i were you i'd get all my registration info neatly organized and within
arms reach of your new G5.
