I feel your pain. Day 2 of my first serious session with Logic and there was
a time there where I thought I was losing my mind. I was trying to create
new audio tracks (either through Functions/Tracks/Create or Create New Track
w/ Next Instrument) and while Logic would create a new track it appeared to
be a clone of an existing track. For example, I've already recorded a live
guitar part with Audio Object 5 which is set as Track 5. Then I'll record a
bass part on Audio Object 6 which is set as Track 6. I have an Audio Object
7 set as Track 7 in my environment however when I select Track 6 (Bass) in
the Arrange window and select Create New Track w/ Next Instrment one would
assume that it would create an audio track using the Audio Object 7 but
instead it kept creating a track called "Guitar" which was a clone
of Track
5. When I tried to change the I/O to another Track it would then change the
original guitar track as well - as if they were linked in some way.
any idea what the issue was? I somehow figured it out but because it took so
long and I tried so many different things I'm not exactly sure how I got
around this quagmire.
at one point it also created an instrument track even though I had an audio
track selected. so Brian, in your case Logic must have somehow changed your
Audio Object into an Instrument Track. Is there a way to change it back to
an audio track using the Arrange window or does one have to go to the
environment?
14 hours with Logic today and not one crash. can't wait until I learn this
wonderful and quirky app. :)
regards,
brian
