I have heard of some problems with latency and the 2408 in the following scenario: Basic Gear = G5 - Panther 10.3.x - 2408 (g5 compatible) - and logic 6... - I have friends who would like to record their MIDI as audio ( ... when things are set up like this - then you don't have to re-patch to print audio later - so it's nice and easy, if it works with no latency) and the hookup is as such: Mac midi - in logic or performer to gigastudios ( light pipe out of giga's) into MAC 2408 light pipe in - back into logic ( listening in monitor mode or recording ...) - apparently when you play on the MIDI keyboard, there is a sizable latency issue, when you hear the audio back on the Mac, (when things are hooked up in this fashion)... Questions: - Is this true? Has anyone experienced this? - Are there any settings that could reduce latency? - ...
