I have heard nothing about having to upgrade to Pro 6 first. For those who already own all softsynths it appears less expensive to stay with Logic 6 until august when Pro 7 (or whatever the official name will be) is due. Personally I'm not yet sufficiently informed on eventual bug fixes coming with Logic 6.4, so you might have to put some research into that before making up your mind about what to do.
