Well, if you already have the EXS24 it's the cheapest way ;-)
Put the SoundFont in the folder named "Sampler Instruments". Then
start
Logic. Open an EXS24. On the EXS24 patch list you will now find the name of
the SoundFont files. Open them as you would have opened a normal ESX24
patch. Logic will now convert the SoundFont to an EXS24 patch. Beware that
the audio sample files will be put into a folder named "SoundFont
Samples"
located inside the Logic program folder. If you keep your sample library on
a dedicated drive/partition you can now move the samples to that direction.
This will force Logic to look for them next time you open those patches, but
that takes only about fifteen seconds on my system.
Maybe these EXS24 routines are speeded up in some way in version 6? I don't
know. However I noticed that a very useful EXS24 has been taken away:
"select the drive/partition for EXS24 to search for sample files".
I had
great use of this in the PC version of Logic 5. But maybe that never got
into the Mac version? I used Mac for Logic 2.0 to 3.6 and then again from
6.0.
Best wishes
