My condolences also on losing some of your work. "There are 2 classes of computer users in the world, those that have lost data, and those that are going to." A quote from either Mr. Hewlett or Mr. Packard, I can't remember which. I create a separate folder for every new project / song. I save everything into that folder. If I am exploring I just call it something inane like a1. Next save is either the same or a2 if it is significantly better / different. If it crystalises into something I want to pursue I can usually give it a good name by then, but I always save the drivel in the begining as something. Using this method I have rarely lost any work and never very much. Mind you, you need to clean up regularly if you do this, especially all the backup copies of the primordal versions of songs. Ray
