Subject: VS1680 Control & Emagic wish
Message #15630
Hi, I have Logic LAMP 4.1 and I am attempting to use it to control a Roland VS-1680, things like volume, pan, effects send, etc... The environment which came on the Platinum disk doesn't seem to function properly, at least in my set-up. Can anyone give me some advice on properly getting the VS-1680 controlled by a Logic environment? Are there particular settings on the VS-1680 which need to be enabled for this to work? Does anyone have a different and perhaps better environment that the one included on the Emagic CD? Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated. It would be great if Emagic had a 'certification' process where they could have someone at Emagic or working for Emagic test environments for functionality, clean design and documentation. I fully appreciate how great it is that people contribute their time and brainpower to making environments, but at the same time some environments are much, much better than others and much easier to start to work with. I think if Emagic were to offer a number of environments which were more or less officially approved, it would greatly add to the appeal of the entire Logic platform. In several cases, I’ve downloaded environments which simply haven’t worked, which is frustrating. The environment is a great feature, but it can also be a bit of a deterrent to getting working done efficiently if you have to fool around with one for an hour or two before getting it to function. The most consistent complaint about Logic in general is the learning curve- this type of clearing house would help offset this problem. Thanks! RvK
