it reminds me of symbolic sound's kyma system
(http://www.symbolicsound.com/), although entirerly different from a
functional point of view. the idea is the same: using a dedicated
machine for audio processing. i'm all for it. it would bring us back to
the orginal idea of 'the instrument', a device dedicated exclusively to
making music. if this can be done in a modular way, including the
multiple benefits information technology has to offer, then you have a
winner. but implementing this idea....i can already see multiple
obstacles ahead. not that it can't be done, but it's a hard job, that's
for sure.
