(I was going to work on another file for you and describe the conversion in tutorial form) Also, you seemed reluctant to accept the fact that, at least one of the third party freeware plugins you were using, is old and not compatible with Logic/OS9. As I said to you earlier, the desire to hold on to dated technologies such as SCSI, in a system that really does not benefit from it also seems a bit strange. In fact, I got the feeling that you never wanted your system to work correctly, because you weren't willing to change your system to meet the requirements of your workflow. I have the same system (G4 DP533), memory, audio hardware and software. It has served me extremely well for the past three years with minimal fuss. To bag an entire line of product line because of a personal bad experience seems a little strange to me. The Apple operating systems have never been more stable or user friendly and are continuously improving. The imaginary product you describe is already available in various forms. The humble 'hardware hard disk recorder' in its various makes and models will do most of what you are proposing. Maybe one of these products will serve you better, because the one you describe will never be available from Apple, as it represents a giant leap backwards and would be suicidal for a company like Apple to consider. Not everyone is having a bad experience with Logic and Apple machines out there. I am sorry that you are not getting the most out of your system, but you proposed system is not very well thought out and the current state of affairs in the Apple world certainly results in a lot more flexibility, which is certainly more complementary to creative flow.
