Hey Devin!
Hmmm.... Well, that is a good start. Erasing the hard drive and starting
fresh is always a
good way to determine what is realllly going on with your system.
About the drivers.... Yes, that is what I was referring to: your Audio
Interface's latest
driver, and your MIDI driver. I wasn't sure if you ERASED your hard drive or
not, so I
thought that I would ask about that... but since you DID, then OF COURSE you
reinstalled
the drivers, or nothing would work at all!!!
Well, I personally use Cocktail (www.macosxcocktail.com) as a general system
maintainance tool... It can "prebind the system", "repair
permissions", "clean caches" (ALL
of them), "run cron scripts" (for maintaince that ONLY happens on
your Mac if you leave
it on 24 hrs. a day, NOT in sleep mode, from what I understand), etc.
etc.... It also gives
you direct, no-hassle access to many hidden files on your system that can
sometimes be
corrupted (like your DS_Store files that contain folder display information,
which, when
corrupted, can lead to your folders not displaying correctly, and icons
getting jumbled
up all the time, etc.)..... All this, and much MORE, and it is only $11.95.
Not bad....
Anyhow... don't know what else to say.
