I have had some success getting the audio from an avi to play however it is not solid ie it sometimes works sometimes not. (I have not been able to nail down the problem, when it works great) Use cinepac codec I've found that to be the best. I tend to create a .wav file of the audio from the avi and import that to a logic track not ideal however it works every time.
