I think its an amazing synth rendition of a Stevie Ray Vaught guitar solo - its from Stevie Wonder's double live album in Japan. He has quite an ear! Actually I have found that making a strum is fairly easy - you start the low notes well before the beat, so that the high notes hit on the beat. Also the timing between the "Strings" starts slow and gets faster.
