Eric, what's the "something else" you're moving to? > > Thanks! > you receive the demo keys from Peachpit Press. instructions on how to request the key are in the book. note that it takes 10 business days to receive the key. it actually took 11 in my case, but on the 10th day I was quick to call Peachpit Press customer service as well as send an email (info is on their website). Customer service was very helpful and confirmed that the key was sent via UPS but explained that things were a bit delayed due to the blackout. admittedly it is a bit of a PITA as well as a surprise to find out that the key is not included. but I think the book is well written and a very good into to Logic, the 30-day demo is icing on the cake. granted it's the demo that inspired me to buy the book since I've never seen Logic in action. so for that alone the book/demo is well-worth the price. I've been dabbling with Logic and the book since Wednesday, and I have to say I'm impressed. it's a totally different animal from DP which is what I'm used to, but that's not a bad thing. DP is certainly a heck of a lot nicer to look at, but Logic is a lot faster (more responsive) and seems more stable. not to mention the Logic community seems more widespread and more helpful. so while I have a few more weeks left on the demo, I'm feeling pretty confident that I'll be joining the ranks of Logic users fairly soon :) regards, brian
