I'll use TotalMix to deal with that. For example, my default TotalMix setup mirrors the main outs on the S/PDIF out, which is not something that's particularly convenient to do in Logic. I've found TotalMix to be very handy when managing the routing between Logic, additional external A/D/A conversion via ADAT to digital mixer, S/PDIF FX send/return, and an analog console. The requirements for record/playback/fx/monitoring can get quite complex, so I'll setup whatever ridiculous routing I need to manage the gear at hand, save it as a TotalMix file in the song folder, and be able to load it when needed without messing with the routing within the Logic song, which can stay simple for easy transportability. I also find the metering in TotalMix to be considerably more useful than Logic's metering - in these days of 24-bit recording, I really do need to be able to see instantly what's going on in the -20dB to -70dB (or so) range ... Logic's metering is just hopeless for that. John Pitcairn
