Subject: [LUG] [LAM] RME Hammerfall DSP Multiface in MacOS X: problems...
Message #140200
In OS 9 my RME Hammerfall DSP Multiface-card wasn't exactly hassle free. Once every while (especially on important occasions with clients waiting) I was unable to get the card working. The red-error light went on and I had to either restart 30 times, begging for it to work again, or re-install the drivers again. Very irreliable. Now I finally started working in MacOS X and the card gives me a hell of a time. What a &(*#&(#*&^#% card this is. I get drop-outs all the time. With 8 or nine tracks I get a system overload of the Audio Core. I get synchronisation errors (midi/audio). What a horrible driver they've written. So, I wonder, is anybody working pleasantly with the RME hammerfall DSP Multiface? If so, what are your settings (in the Hammerfall comtrol panel and in Logic's audio driver preferences)? I'm really sorry I bought this card, or am I doing something wrong? My set-up: Logic Audio Platinum 6.1 Apple G4 800MHz with 1,5GB RAM MacOS X 10.2.6 latest Hammerfall DSP drivers TC Powercore with latest drivers Remco
