You're right, of course, and I'm grateful for your suggestions but it's a fair size workaround for a missing _basic_ functionality that has, as I mentioned before, been around elsewhere for 2 decades. What you're suggesting (as you concede) requires setting up maybe thirty (or fifty, or whatever...) bus routings instead of just grabbing a fader and moving it. And it all adds to the CPU demands, of course. Roger
