I love the 01V's flexibility and use the onboard effects all the time. The converters are decent but not 24-bit. I prefer to use an outboard mic pre although, the 01v's pre's work fine. I do however plan on getting the new 01V96 when it becomes available (I think in April). It is a 24 channel mixer (16 analog and 8 digital) and is expandable to 40 channels. It will support 24-bit/ 96kHz and have four effects processors. It will also have much better control surface capabilites and a lot more dsp over all. An ADAT I/O will be included as standard and you can add an additional 16 I/Os via an optional card. The only sacrifice you make with running the mixer at 96kHz is that you only get 2 FX instead if 4 and only 8 opitional I/Os versus 16. Other digital mixers in this price range halve the total amount of channels you get when you run at 96kHz. Other benefits of the 01v96 are 8 busses, compression and gating on every channel (not either or like the original). -Matt
