I'm not sure why this is OT...... So I'm replying =)
I use an iBook with a MOTU live. I use Logic 5.5 for doing so and heres why.
I have 3 stereo tracks -
Track 1 = main mix (without bass and kick drum)
Track 2 = Bass parts
Track 3 = Kick Drum parts
This way if I'm at a place where theres too much bass, I can turn it down
rather than trying to fix the problem with EQ.
I also play a lot of VST instruments live - I have the EVP88, ESX24, 2
Absynth modules and Beast up and ready to go. I have the arrange window open
and arrow up and down to play different parts - wherever the spirit leads
me....
Processing wise it never gets to 60% and I'm an a 600 Mhz iBook so you'll be
fine.
One suggestion if you don't have a USB keyboard, get one... I got the
Evolution 49c because it can run off the iBooks power and the knobs have
presets so you can set up different controller settings for the knobs (since
everything has a different CC# for Filter Cutoff, Resonance etc.). Oxygen
and the MIDI man keyboards can't do this.
Good luck !
