Is this just because I'm using MacAV, or is it a > localised problem. The most likely cause of this problem is a missing "Res" folder. This should be in the Logic folder alongside the application, and contains the files that provide graphic interfaces for the plug-ins. There should be one file in the folder for all the DSP plug-ins, and then a separate one for each audio instrument (EXS, ES1, ES2, etc.). If this is missing, then Logic will revert to a basic slider control interface. If it is indeed missing as I suspect, then check to see if you have moved it to another location on your system, or perhaps inadvertently deleted it. If you've moved it, simply put the folder back into the Logic folder. If it's completely gone, then I guess you'll need to reinstall. Jeff Bohnhoff Emagic Inc.
