He was probably refering to the state Logic Platinum has reached, imho
the purchase by Apple, with the Emagic team will turn it into the
killer music app it should be.
i) UI - the User Interface of LAMP is in desparate need of a sort out.
It's look and feel is not what you expect from a mac app.
ii) Menus - look at them all!! Do we *really* need six separate
entries in the Settings menu for the Score? So many settings: why a
'MIDI options' and a 'MIDI Interface Communication'? The menus (within
the arrange window) don't even work properly - you can't slide the
cursor over the different menu headings to bring down their contents.
At most there should be five settings, MIDI / Audio / User Interface /
Video / Score
iii) Windows - 10 different windows! These should be streamlined, so
that most of the work you need to do can be accompished within *1*
window a la 'Project Builder' (Apple Development Environment).
iii) Stability - Sorry but the problem with opening up audio
environments causing the mac to crash very hard is still there. I have
still not yet heard a clear answer as to what the cause is. Emagic
suggest a corrupted song or preferences - but how can this be? How can
LAMP be destroying its own data!?!!
iv) Integration - Bring WaveBurner and SoundDiver into LAMP.
v) Products - Logic Audio and an iLogic version for the kids.
Best regards,
Andrew
