Subject: [LUG][LAM] My Pure Speculation about LAW's future
Message #110104
Hi all, I'm a mac user who loves Logic and therefore, from a purely selfish point of view I have to say I'm optimistic about what this could mean for the quality of MY recording system. That said, I'm incredibly shocked by the news of the discontinuation of the Emagic windows line. I agree whole heartedly with the LAW users who feel this would be a "shafting" but I think perhaps there is more news to come. I feel sure that having just paid for an upgrade to version 5, LAW users would have a strong case for litigation if their product is completely dropped. But what if it just mutated into a new piece of software that is not supported by Apple, but by a new (or already established) company who develop and support this new software as a separate product for Windows? The two different products will end up with different features and I'm sure that this will be a bad thing for people who share their work with others on a different platform to themselves (myself included) but it won't be as bad as the total cessation of Logic on the PC. What makes me think this could all happen? One word..."MAGIX" Gareth
