PC Gang - Sorry about the bad news. Apple/ Emagic will have to find a way to
compensate PC users who spent thousands of dollars on Emagic's products.
But... as a Mac user I feel this step was essential for Apple. Not once I've
been frustrated with the reluctance of developers to release a Mac version
of their plug-ins. I think Apple saw a big migration to the PC platform in
their crystal ball - especially since Win XP is a really good and stable
OS. They had to prove that they're serious about their commitment to
musicians - not only graphic designers/ film directors.
A whole system (from the very low level kernel to the hardware) designed
from the ground up for music and multimedia creation? not a bad idea at all.
So maybe finally we'll see developers porting their work to the Mac
platform... ?
Cheers,
-Nir
