I'm planning a rebuild of my homestudio, so my old analog 24 input mixer is subject of debate. If I want to make full use of all my synths/sampler outputs, 24 is simply not enough. So I'm looking for a follow up. Another reason is, I want to make the workarea as small as possible, so a large mixing desk is in the way. And if I'm honest, I didn't spend that much time behind the mixing desk. I just needed a place to park the synths etc. Most of the mixing issues where done using midi. Since I don't use ADAT and things like that, today's digital mixers always have a limited number of analog inputs (price related ofcourse). So what way to go... A combination of the MOTU 2408 and 24i (like Kim have, maby with a small digital mixer, say Roland VM3100) seems to me very appealing. This will cost also a few bucks, but the system is expandable for more inputs. And reading Kim's message, makes me thinking... Greetings. Bert Keizer.
