Hi, I'm pretty sure it does not. I checked that a couple of years ago under OS 9 and I think it would be the same under OS X. Hi Group, I'm running G5 dual 2.0 with 2 gigs ram, 10.3.3 OSX, 6.3.3 LAP, HD3Accel Every time I try to record midi and select stop using the keyboard or mouse while recording, the program freezes. Has anyone seen this? What do I do?? It freezes whether I'm using midi tracks or instruments (Trilogy, etc..) Either one freezes, so it's not the virtual instrument. Please help with this. make sure to use settings that work for the song's tempo and mood. there are no rules, but it sounds like you might have too much delay or too loud of a delay... less again is more. one idea is to roll off some of the high end on the delay returns so you get a hint of the delayed sound but does not disturb the main vox. r. --- In logic-tdm@yahoogroups.com, dreamer1s3@a... wrote: > can anybody help me i am trying to set up delay for vocals on ballads and > trying to use supertap but tho some settings sound good they bother your ear > after awhile i have many delays other than supertap can someone recomendsome > settings and or plug ins > > >

Is this normal automation behaviour on DAE/TDM track? I automate a Digirack EQII to bypass during certain sections of a guiar track. I get random clicks during the bypass/unbypass automation event. I can understand if it always clicks in the same place... but the clicking is RANDOM... sometimes the bypass/unbypass clicks, sometimes it doesn't is this normal? another one of those logic "things"... r.

Hey Brio! I'm doing it right now, originally a multiout drumset that I edited so I had 1 dry version, 1 Overhead version, and 1 Ambience version (I have different samples for all of this), Then I dial up 3 mono instances of "Dry Version" for kick, snare and Hihat. Then a Stereo Instance for "Overhead" Version etc. Works fine, only pity is we can't use spacedesigner. It's got some dope springreverb presets. New to this Forum. Put simply. I am trying to get sound from within logic to appear within the PROTOOLS TDM session. Like for example; working within Protools and having logic audio (busses or whatever) appear like a rewire bus on a protools aux channel from ableton live etc... can this be done? If so HOW??? I have exausted all the tech support I can manage and no answers so far.

Well guys, it's been a month or so since I've visited the Logic-TDM forum, = and it's been an interesting time switching to Logic Pro 6.4.1/G5 Dual 2GHz/ProTools 6.2.3/H= D|3 Accel. Here are some observations– Some may elicit "Uh, DUH!", some may be news to people, some may bore you to tea= rs: • At one time, Emagic and I were buddies. I sold a TON of their softwarea= nd hardware, and we had a great relationship. Now it's like pulling teeth to get any in= formation at all. Tech support is non-existant. What the hell? • There is NO tutorial anywhere for setting up ESB on OSX (which is obvious= ly very different than on OS9). Even the new Logic Pro manual only explains how to= do it in OS9. It took days to figure it out, and I've been using this thing every day for five years. DTDM tracks didn't show up in t= he arrange window tracklist at first, and even now (with 6.4.1) only the first 8 chann= els show up– I have to drag them from the environment. Not a huge deal, but certainly not= the most intuitive way to do things. • AudioSuite works fine, unless I need to preview it first, which hard cras= hes Logic. Not a huge deal– I can simply process it, check it out, then undo if necessary.= The AudioSuite window doesn't have a close button, but command–W works. Whatever. • One of the main reasons I got a new system was to take advantage of REXf= iles. Any time I try it, even on a DTDM track, Logic gives me a 9031 error, and all a= udio dies until rebooting. On the rare occasion that the file plays, the same 9031 error w= indow pops up every OTHER time I press play, and REX preview will hardcrash Logic as well= . So no REX stuff, okay. • This one's infuriating: For some reason, after a few instantiations of DT= DM softsynths, be they Logic or otherwise, and in seemingly random fashion, all DTDM track= s will be distorted. Rebooting doesn't fix this (even to a different song), restarti= ng the computer doesn't fix this. The only way to fix it is to either open an older versio= n of the offending song or open a default Logic song with DTDM disabled, and without pressing = play, drag the tracks from the offending song to the new song. Then close the offendi= ng song, and rebuild the DTDM tracks. Aargh! • Why does my transport window creep to the left any time I change a screen= set? • All the editing functions seem really skittish. I have to be extremelyc= areful trimming or cutting an object- way more careful than in Logic 4.7. It's really common = for an object to move in the opposite direction that I dragged it, or the region start/end p= oint will jump wildly somewhere entirely different from where I'm placing it. • Though I'm not the type of person to accost employees at trade shows with= software problems, the Emagic employees manning the TDM-Logic rig at NAB genuinely k= new NOTHING about any of the problems we've all been having. I mentioned Audio= Suite, and the guy said "Oh, Logic hasn't supported AudioSuite for years." Huh? It's= right there in the audio editor. "No, those must be RTAS plugins." What are you talking abou= t? As it turns out, all the plugins in the AudioSuite menu at NAB were disabled. • The common problem of the pointer not lining up with the interface disapp= ears if you switch to Core Audio and then back to DAE. • Whew! Deep breath. Now laugh if you must, but other than the problemsm= entioned above (several of which have irritating workarounds at most), Logic TDM is = pretty stable. If I avoid certain things, crashes are nonexistant. Now that I've replaced= all but three of my keyboards with softsynths, the advantages of the new rig– believe it or = not– outweigh the negatives. Now I don't have clients in the room to embarrass, but at l= east I can predict when things go haywire now. • Looking forward to when the above issues get solved. Obviously.

Subject: VSL sidegrade
Message #16046
I am wondering about installing the VSL Horizon library I have on a Giga setup for use with EXS. I notice on the VSL site that once you have registered a package as either Giga or EXS install, it will only give you access to the performance tools for the registered platform. I would think that clearly I could install the EXS version (maybe not ethically, but I did buy the library) but is the performance tool necessary? When I read the detail in the library manual, it makes reference to a sidegrade offer on the website, which I assume then gives you access to both platforms, but I can't find any info on the website. Anyone know anything about this? -mark Mark Henderson mark@... 952.210.4801

On a similar note, does anyone have a recommendation for a soft sampler to use in PT? I had Soft Samplecell (thanks Digi for the bite in the ass again), but have converted to EXS for use within Logic, but sure would like something to use in PT when converting an occasional project. Sampletank looks really clunky in the interface, and I don't know anyone using it seriously. Mach Five looks better, although I have told by a MOTU user friend that it doesn't import Samplecell stuff very gracefully. In addition to being a Digi competitor....and we all know how well Digi is cooperating with the competition. If somehow the HTDM could be made so EXS could be used in PT, I'd be swinging. -mark Mark Henderson mark@... 952.210.4801

Surely if >digidesign made one they would clear up?? Whether it uses HTDM or anything other language to get into TDM mixer, all the soft samplers need to use the host computer's memory and drives - and that includes the TDM version of the EXS24. There's nowhere near enough memory on TDM chips to run a modern sampler. Meanwhile, you should be able to run a good 30 - 40 or more EXS24s inside Logic, which I think is pretty good. Unfortunately, there's no EXS24 expansion plan for those of us using sample libraries that are way too big for any one machine to handle. You can run the Native Instruments samplers on multiple machines, but you have to buy a whole new Logic Pro if you want to do that with EXS. -- Nick Batzdorf 818/905-9101, cell 590-9101, fax 905-5434
