Yes i can use on DTDM, but i have also es2 and evoc 20 and some
other AU stuff, i want to use kontakt with multichannel and reaktor
too, and how i can manage all AU stuff with only f***ing 8 ESB
output ? in fact also an ESB upgrade could be very good, why only 8
outputs!!!! DAMN!

is not a main problem for me if they not use DSPs, the most
important thing is that i can use them on TDM and i can equalize
with my focusrites and i can use my dverb and so on....
the most important thing is to have multichannel on TDM so i can use
kontakt in multi channel and do all the rithm from it, using 1
output for each sound...
in addition to this i leave dtdm free, so i can use it for ES2
EVOC20 and some other AU stuff (using 1 ESB output for each
Instrument)....

Hi.
Has anyone here bought a "Logic 6 competitive upgrade" ?
If so, what is the difference between a ordenary logic 6 and the
upgrade thing?
I just ordered a competitive upgrade from a store in NY but I am not
completely sure what this is about....(and neither was the guy who
sold it to me.....but he said it was the same program...and that I
qualified for the discount prize because I run a PT MIX....)

The competitive upgrade is identical to the full version of Logic Platinum
save for how it's registered. The full version can be registered completely
via email whereas the competitive upgrade must be done via snailmail (with a
copy of your ProTools CD or the front page of its manual, etc.).
Interestingly enough, we sell a ton of MOTU 828s, which include AudioDesk,
which allows the customer to get the competitive version of Logic. A lot of
people forget to take advantage of it.

Ok.....now this wasn't fully communicated to me from the music store I
bought it from....I wanted to buy a full 6 but it was out of stock , then he
asked me if I didn't have motu or so...I responded that I had Pt Mix....and
that, he said, made me qualified for an upgrade....
But it's nothing more to it than sending in the first page of the manual of
my oooold protools , huh?
That'd be great cos since I bought my stuff second hand (from a music store)
I don't have any original documnentation or anything.....and that made me
kinda worried really.....but hopefully you're right and I'll just submit ye
olde manual that I have never even peaked into since I have been using logic
since I bought my first pro tools rig! ;)
Thx for answering, really appreciate it.
best regards
Fredrik
ps. does "rainbow guitars" seel stuff online? I live in Sweden and
things
are soooo expensive here...logic 6 platinum sells at the nice price of 1475
$.....!!...so I kinda have to get stuff from overseas...ds.

I read this then went to the NI site to learn more. They say:
1. The plugins are not TDM, they are HTDM, meaning that they are
native plugins
2. The package is no longer available (at least officially)

Yeah, I've noticed that foible too some of the time, especially with
soft instruments. I don't have any insight into the problem, but as
I've posted before, Logic does need a kick in the ass now and again.
It's also possible that this is a corruption problem. That seems to
happen a lot in Logic, for some reason, so you might try a new Song
that's been created with your Autoload out of the Logic folder.
I think I've posted this tale here before too: for a couple years I
assumed that Hyperdraw underneath the Matrix editor just didn't work.
It turned out to be a corrupted screenset in my Autoload! Not the
entire file, just that one screenset!
Moral: get the sucker working, then save a copy of your prefs and
Autoload in case this kind of thing happens.
Finally, I have to say in the same breath that Logic is still a
brilliant program, in spite of these minor things you have to put up
with to keep it going.

It happened to me to!
Create a new Physical Input Object in the Environments Global Objects Layer.
New Songs seem to miss this Object, somehow strange, but...

This is my first attempt at trying to import a Midi file into Logic.
I could not establish communication between the imported file
and the environment of the Autoload song that I imported into.
The instruments in the Arrange Window of the new file didn't
have midi access to the objects in the Autoload Environment.
The manual says the new files will access the existing
Environment if imported, but they didn't for me. I chose the option
at Import of copying the existing Environment rather than creating
a new one. Then I tried it the other way by creating a new
Environment at midi file import then importing the Autoload
Environment. Neither worked.
My workaround was to import the midi file without closing the
Autoload song, and copying all of the tracks from the midi file
Arrange Window to the Autoload Arrange Window. This worked,
but I'm sure there's got to be a better way.
Thanks for your help.

I'm looking to buy PCI DSP Farm(s). The biggest chip on
the card (called "PCI Matchmaker") must have the letters
"QC" (this indicates the later revision which works in an
expansion chassis).
I'm in Toronto.

I concur. I think this has been the way ever since OSX.

This is probably temporary. My Nubus Disk i/o blew
up on Tuesday so I had to quickly piece together a new
rig. I had many of the parts for a PCI rig already. I've
got enough horsepower for tracking, editing, mastering
and simple mixes, but not enough for complex mixes.
wow... I now get to use Logic6 on my main rig!

I just found out from Emagic technical Support that my XSkey is broken,
and the only way is to ship the XSkey back to emagic. If I decide to buy
another Logic audio Platinum 6, but I am not sure whether all of my
emagic plugic like ESB, ES1, and etc... that were registered for my
current will be able to be registered for a new one
if you buy another logic 6, i think you can run all the plugs for 90 days
that will give you time to sort out the xs key problem and/or transfer of
plug-ins with e-magic.
but overnighting your key to them would be much cheaper than buying another.
are you in the US?

Greetings all
I have just tried setting up LAMP on a G4 powerbook, using an Mbox - I know,
not TDM, but I'm hoping I can get help with what seems to be a simple
problem.
Up until now, in OS9, I have used Apple-spacebar as the key command for
record, as it simplifies things when I go back to ProTools, which uses the
same command. I now have Logic Platinum 6.3.1 and OS 10.2.4, and I can't
assign that key combination. I can enter Cntrl-spacebar or Alt-spacebar, but
not Apple-spacebar. Other keys in combination with Apple (e.g. I use
Apple-right arrow to scroll a bar at a time to the right) work fine. Is
there something obvious I'm doing wrong, or is there some sort of reserved
key combination in OSX?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Kind regards

Hi all
I am finally going to OSX
Does one or other of the PT ot Logic apps have to be installed first for

PT needs to be installed first.
BTW, check the compatibility documents. I don't believe Panther has
been approved by Digidesign for G4's yet, although some people are
using it.

Hi!
No, I am not in the US at the moment, but I bought the up grade while I
was in the US in July, so it would take longer time to ship things to
Emagic in The US, and I have recording session that requires Logic
coming up.
