Hello all. I'm wondering about more solutions to the 9060 dae error under osX. The system works fine under os 9 and I even formatted the audio drive as extended as proposed by digidesign support here in sweden. I've alsaa already disabled norton, updater and screensavers. I solved the same problem for me by making sure that my drives were configured as Master and slave as opposed to cable select mode which apple suggests. I can't argue with that if you're not exaggerating, but I'd be willing to bet someone else's money that this wasn't on a recent G4. For a long time you could only run two monitors on a G4/PT system if you used an Appian Jeronimo 2000 card, and in those days I don't doubt that reducing the colors could help (assuming what I posted isn't true). Now Macs all come with fancy cards, and the PCI implementation is a lot better. Plus I believe that even though the AGP slot is actually a fast (4x) PCI slot, it isn't on the PCI bus - it's on the system bus. > Even Digi recommends it as a remedy for >6042 errors. The other thing is the Apple Expansion Chassis and Multiprocessor blalbla fix on the Digidesign site. You must use it with a MIX system on a fast dual-processor G4 or you definitely will get -6042 errors. > I am not aware of any plugins that actually >need millions of colors. Subject: Logic vs. Reason Problems
Message #13380
Hi! I have problems with Reason and Logic.. Logic works as normal but Reason freeze in the opening process, but if I without clicking in Reason go back to Logic and press play Reason opens up, but when I try to create a instrument Reason freeze. If I try to quit Reason I get: "ReWireDLL.cpp(994) :Verify failure" and have to force quit. If I trash the preference files for Logic it works if I not change the dual processor support or Rewire2 mode in Direct TDM Audio Preferences in Logic...STRANGE!! This has happened since I installed Logic 6.1 and Reason 2.5. Reason works on it's own so it must have something to do with Rewire2. /nick

Subject: pluin order
Message #13386
Hello I have a problem where the tdm plugin order in Logic is wrong..... the plugin that gets instanciated is always the one below the one I am actually pointing at in the list. Also - all my saved songs come up with the wrong plugs because of this. Is there anyway to get around this? Am I the only one who has seen this happen??? Please help! I reinstalled PT a week ago to include Surround stuff, but it has been OK after that, its only today that its all gone wrong! Thanks Matt

Haven't seen this exact problem myself, but to me, this sounds like a graphics card problem. Are you using a non-standard graphics card in your Mac, i.e. a card that didn't originally come with your computer? I had similar problems with other applications back when I was using a ProMax DHMax card. Lee Blaske

If you look at the available TDM Plugins in Logic and see POWr dither in the list, this could be the problem .I don't think that plugin is supposed to show up in Logic. I think the solution is to trash all the Digi Preferances...DAE prefs,Digi setup etc. startup Protools and let it create the new preferances. You might also want to trash the Logic prefs. Danny

I did a rebuild of OS9 and it came back last week. If you aim your mouse below where you want to click it will be ok, but I amstill testing what the problem is. I am on DAE 5.1.1 - and the problem has now gone away! I'm not sure exactly why, but I think It may have had something to do with the iLok stuff..... I have a feeling that for some reason the plugins that look at the iLok couldnt find it and so were messing up the list (or something?) I reinstalled the iLok drivers (it was the only thing left I hadnt re-installed!) and they came back OK! Thanks for everyones help....nice to know I'm not the only one who this happens to:) Matt

Subject: Any recommendations of a Dual Monitor card?
Message #13392
My system: Mac G4 500 single OS 9.2.2 Logic 6.1 w/ pro Tools 5.1.1 (DAE 5.1.1cs1) Core, (2) Farm cards, (2) i/o cards AD-8000, (4) ADAT Bridges, USD ATTO scsi card (2) DigiDrives My question: I am currently using a Radeon 8500 dual monitor card and my mouse cursor freezes quite often when dragging a window from one screen to the other. I also get stutter when recording at high track counts. Is this the fault of the Video card? I tried to find info in the digi compat. doc's but only found reference to an old Appian Jeronimo card as being supported. Is this still recommended today? What are my options? Thanks in advance for any suggestions Rich Mercado

I presume that you've got ProTools 6.0.1 installed on the machine, right? Exit out of Logic, and launch ProTools. Under "Setups->Hardware Setup" there should be a playback buffer setting (increase it to the largest amount of RAM). Don't worry about the Hardware latency settings, as this pertains to ESB / RTAS operation. I found this same anomaly opening Logic songs that played fine in OS 9 but would choke in OS X. Dave Dever
