Subject: No parameters in movie window
Message #12276
I've upgraded to Logic 5.5.0 and it seems to be running smoothly EXCEPT when I open a movie I just get a standard QuickTime movie window. There are none of the usual Logic parameters available: "Movie Start", "Contiguous Sync" etc. I've tried clicking and control clicking and double clicking, but nothing works. Any ideas? Ta! Ian

My students run into this problem when they double-click on the QT movie in the Finder, and it opens up in Movie Player (not in Logic). If you have indeed opened the movie from inside Logic, then a long-click down at the bottom (in the grey section) will open up the menu in question. f-erenc szabo, smarty pants Z+E+R+O+B+E+A+T "NOW POWERED BY THE MIRACLE OF THE TRANSISTOR!"

Thanks for your prompt reply Ferenc. Unfortunately I have NO grey area. Clicking or click-and-holding anywhere produces no result, except for double-clicking the movie itself, which starts the movie. All I have is a QuickTime screen of the sort you see in a web page: the screen, and a small "play triangle" and "progress bar" underneath. There is nothing below the play triangle/progress bar. It's as if Logic has defaulted to using the QuickTime internet plug-in for playing movies. Ian ------------------------------ Ian G. Subject: Logic5.5 and directconnect bug?!?
Message #12281
Hi all, I have tested a demo of the b4 direct connect with logic 5.5 and protools 5.1.3. In the moment when you use the direct connect plugin the displays of all the TDM-plugins get slow and have a little delay - as much that you cannot really work with it anymore. If you use it in Protools with the same directconnect plugin everything works fine. Check it out! Has anyone the same experience in using direct connect with logic or are there any solutions? Best wishes, Matthias.

Subject: [LAMP] AudioSuite Plugs?
Message #12284
LAMP 5.5 PT Mix plus systems with DAE 5.1.1 Mac G4 667s OS 9.2.2 Running under DAE driver. I was under the impression that plain Audiosuite was broken in Logic's sample editor, because we were seeing "no plug-ins" under the menu item. They work correctly in Pro Tools 5.2. However today, as a test, I selected the item "no plug-ins" and up came the DigiRack Compressor plug. It worked like an Audiosuite plug should. However, I couldn't access any of the other plugs that we have. Can someone clarify - is AudioSuite SUPPOSED to be working in LAMP's sample editor, or is it known to be broken. Or what? I would like to have two 17" apple lcd screens in my Protools/logic system. I need the GeForce4-TI card and the DVI to ADC Display Adapter. I would like to know if anyone use this setup today?... I need to know if there is something I should be aware of?... I want to put the Geforce4-ti into my G4/867mhz computer. I believe I read something about logic (or was that protools?) not remembering the screen positions when save/re-opening sessions?. Should I expect problems?. Modularmoog.

LAM 5.5.0. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this in the new version(s). In the past, control-clicking towards the top of a number in any numerical display decremented the number and control-clicking towards the bottom decremented it (or was it the other way round?) In 5.5.0 it doesn't work, although the on-line help says it should. Ian ------------------------------ Ian G. Subject: AdatBridge-888/24
Message #12293
Here is the scenario: I have two 888/24, one Adat Bridge, a USD , a Midi Time Piece AV, and one Adat. The task is to transfer multiple Adat tapes (same session) into Logic (or Protools). So Far I have connected two 888s to Mix Card Core (that's the way I usually run my regular sessions), the Word Clock from USD to the 888s, MTP word clock to Adatbridge. Then the sync cable from MTP to Adat and the light pipes in/out to and from the Adat and the Adatbridge. MTP is master with internal sync mode. Almost evrything works, except that when I try to transfer if the USD is on the monitoring interface, the 888, makes a bunch of noise. (shall I hook a word out from the Adatbridge to the USD?) So if the USD is shut off it works, aside from some undesiderable digital glicht noise... Anyone out ther with a similar set who want to share some knoledge? Thank you. Sage

Message #12294
Hey guys, just switched to Logic TDM from PT, so excuse my ignorance, but is there a way to drag 16bit samples to a 24bit session arrange window? If not, how do you guys deal with 16bit samples? How bout stereo samples, do I need a stereo track, cause it asks me to convert to dual mono? Thanks Steve

Once in the audio window you can drag to the arrange or copy/paste. Pete Church

So, let me get this right..if I have a stereo interleaved 16 bit file, I drag it to the audio window and convert to 2 mono files, then save/convert to 24 bit then drag to arrange window? That kinda bites. Is there a way to auto convert from stereo to mono and 16 bit to 24 bit? Didn't see anything in prefs. That leaves me with 3 copies of the file unless I clean up afterwards. Anyway, I tried all of the above, but somethings not right with DTDM. I can scrub the audio and hear it through an ESB Aux, but when I just play the file from the arrange window I dont' hear anything. Everything looks ok. The audio files are on DTDM Tracks 1&2, output 1&2. The ESB Aux is for 1&2 and like I said is working while scrubbing. Any ideas? Thanks Steve
