In the environment, make sure the icon parameter of your master fader is
checked!!! Paramater box on the left, click on master, and then click
"icon" in the box to enable it.

Hello, excuse me, i don't speak english very well, i'm french and i
would like to make a group of 2 audio tracks (mono) in order to
make an edit of the 2 tracks in the same time.
With Pro Tools, I can do it with the fonction "create a new
group".
My version of Logic is Platinum 5,3,0.
Can you help me ? Thank you.

I'd like to have an answer to that one too ! thank you darko....
Not possible yet to group tracks.
You can shift-select multiple regions to edit together, but that´s not
the
same... :-(

Greetings Bobo!
1) An Audio Channel (Track, Aux, Output, Master, Input, Bus)
doesn't have to be in the Arrange for you to perform automation
on it. Simply activate the appropriate automation mode (touch,
latch or write) for that Channel and automate away. Obviously,
you won't see the data in the Arrange.
2) To actually allow to have an Audio Channel appear in the Arrange,
you must place an "X" in the ICON parameter in this Channel's
Parameter
box (left side of the Environment window, assuming the VIEW submenu
is allowing you to see "parameters")

Resending this:
I am encountering a basic problem with playback of surround panning
automation in LAPM 5.3 (I don't think 5.5 fixed it) that was confirmed by an
emagicusa tech the other day.
But it's so basic that I can't believe no one has mentioned this. Maybe I
missed something, but a search in list archive didn't return anything.
Try this:
Set a track to surround/quadro (also happens in 5.1). Set tempo above 50. Be
in touch or latch and move panner from L to R and back again in the front of
the field during playback.
Play this automation back and watch the panner jump quickly into the rears
as the panner crosses center. To hear how cools this sounds: Put a
continuous tone on the track, set your master for the fronts to zero and
rears to 90, and listen to the blip as the panner jumps.
As the panner moves across center, the surround angle value has to go from 0
to 357 (or 127 if your looking at the automation event list (go figure?) ).
Logic seems to put a ramp in this move, so the panner tries to quickly whip
around from the other direction to get to the other side of center. If you
manually go in and edit these ramps to a frame or so in length, the panning
plays smoothly. The only time I could get this to not record is when i set a
tempo of 30 or so.
Am I doing something wrong? Have you guys noticed this?
perplexed,
Jonathan

Which Firewire/USB PCI card is better: Macally or Orange Micro?
Both are virtually the same price here.
By the way, is there any way to install System 9.2x on a 9600
that has a G4/400 (NewerTech) upgrade card?
I know that System 9.1 is the latest supported for the 9600, but
doesn't that change when the processor changes? If I try to upgrade
I get the message "Computer not supported", as if it still thinks
the
604 processor is installed.

Is anyone else having problems with mcdsp's updated filterbank/ac/cb?
Upon start up i get 7100, then 7157 errors. When using exs24 on an aux
channel i then get crackles... but i dont get crackles on my inputs which
actually have analog channel on them!?
One of the biggest things i noticed was now mcdsp plugs share and that
didnt'
happen before... could it be causing these errors in logic?
I tried trashing my digi setup prefs, tried starting up in pro tools with
those
plugs (no problems) also tried going up to dae 5.1.3 - still no fix. made
sure i
was on digistream manager regular now 128...
any ideas/similar occurences?
-Evan
I installed them and tested them very fast, but no errors so far.

I got DSP max out message when i insert EXS24. I totally run 16 EXS24 on
aux tracks in HD4 system. and the aux tracks up to 64. Since we still
don't have Allocator for HD yet. And i don't think the DSP is actually max
out. i only running few McDSP compressor and no R1 or any heavy weight
plug-ins.
alternatively i'm running EXS24 on native (via ESB back to TDM). I know
when run EX24 in native mode i can have individual output, but where i can
get the return?? Do i need to create bus? Aux? track?.
How many EXS24 can run on TDM HD system???

Bear in mind that DirectConnect has a 32-channel limit, per type of
DirectConnect module.
I.E. ESB (a DirectConnect module) is limited to running 32-channels into the
DAE mixer.
If you are running 16 _stereo_ EXS24TDMs, then you have reached that limit,
and you will not be able to add either any more EXS24TDMs, or any ESB
plug-ins.
Hope that helps.

The best of times to you all...
Pants
thanks...... so its software limitation again instead of DSP limitation.
just like on Mix system... most people run out of TDM time slot sooner than
actually DSP power..... I think digi need to hire Emagic programmers.
why i have tons of DSP chips but the software won't allow me to use it....

Hi all
Anyone know of a hardware solution for joystick panning when doing

Those individual outputs for EXS24-native need to be returned
to a DTDM Aux (not DAE Aux).
It's a good idea to relabel the various inputs, outputs and busses
for both DTDM and DAE, so one doesn't confuse the two (for example
in both DTDM and DAE you see "Output 1", but of course this refers
to two completely different things - it's best to relabel).

problem solved. This is what i did, since i suspected the mcdsp plugs.
took my autoload song, made a backup copy, then opened it up and took off
all the mcdsp plugs in it. Quit logic, reopened autoload no errors - now I
put
the mcdsp plugs back - repeated reopen and still no errors. now weirdly the
rest of my songs opened fine.
went to an orchestral song im working on with lots of exs instances - it
gave
errors. I took out some exs instances (all mono) on both native and dae -
and
now no errors at all...
direct connect/exs keeps getting more and more ambiguous to me - i wish
emagic would write a better manual on using tdm in logic, using exs, etc..
thank you everyone for your advice!

OK, I cant stand this any longer, I need to find a solution to this.
Any body else getting these Speaker-blowing high pitched
bursts when assigning or reassigning TDM tracks, auxes and
sends to busses in Logic with PTHD extension. When Im mixing
at high volume I need to lower the master fader EVERYTIME I
change the routing in my TDM mixer. I cant work like this
anymore I`m going GAGA.
Anybody.....
Pete
Yes, I posted a message about this a while ago. It's definitly
VERY annoying, was hoping this would go away with the upgrade
to 5.5, but no. Could please somebody from Emagic make a
comment?

Hey Guys,
Is there an easy way to transpose a group of keygroups in EXS24? Certain
Akai sample CD's will put an octave worth of drum hits (or orchestra bursts,
etc.) in each program, and I'd like to build new programs with multiple
octaves. As it stands right now, it's easy to copy and paste keygroups from
one program into another, but how do I transpose the whole thing so they
don't overlap without having to transpose each multilayered keymap
separately? One might expect you could simply select the keygroups and drag
up or down the keyboard in the EXS edit window, but no...
Thanks in advance,
E-
Someone please help me figure these two anomalies out.
Most of the time, when you click on a note in an editor it sounds the
soft sampler (usually routed to ESB) it's assigned to. But sometimes
it doesn't, and this comes and goes seemingly at random.
I'm just not seeing the pattern.
Also, has anyone else noticed Klopfgeist having a poltergeist that
makes it silent a good part of the time? And for some reason I have
to turn on MIDI clicks for it to work, even though I don't want them.
Again, I can't see the pattern.
Anyone?
