Message #11477
how come the exs24tdm doesn't have multiple outs? i've been able to set things to multiple outs in an exs24 instrument but it doesn't do anything... if it doesn't ill use my vst version via esb... bc i definitely want to have one object for my percussion isntead of several... and alias' get to be a pain! hope the tdm has multiple outs capability :-( -Evan

I am really tired of the fucking workarounds for this god damn set up. I can not quit Logic and then open it again . . . HUH??? What's going on??? Automation is not as rock solid as PT. cause if I have automated the MCDSP F2 and have the channel selected when automation is going and also push the option and or control keys to save or zoom. Other parameters get moved and do not reset very easily. I get wierd sounding glitches sometimes when switching plug ins or adding sends or even removing sends. When I save the session the audio stops playing back and I have to stop then styart again. HELLO. Anyone with similar problems?????? We are doing upgrading and budgets this month.. Any consensus on Unitor 8 or Digi Midi I/O on the list? Probably does not matter under OS9 and OMS but it seems it is time to make plans for OSX and timestamping. Will both do this equally well? Anyone? Oh yah and I even forgot about the Audiosuite problem. HD extension. . . hah. . . sure seems like we paid a lot to beta test the thing. I will try going to DAE 5..3 as well. You know I wouldn't put it past Digi to fuck with little things every rev JUST to make Logic (now owned by Apple) not as reliable. Why would audiosuite it work in 5.3 and not in 5.3.1?? I knew this Apple deal would bite us in the ASS. ---------- Original Message ---------------------------------- From: "nickdlx" <niklas@...> Reply-To: logic-tdm@yahoogroups.com Date: Wed, 25 Sep 2002 22:00:01 -0000 > >> HELLO. >I can not quit Logic and then open it again . . . HUH??? What's >going on??? I don't have that problem. Do you have enough memory allocated to Logic and DAE? Try being more luxurious with memory allocation and see if the problem goes away. There is a bug with opening Logic or PT after opening Toast Titanium. Digidesign supposedly knows about it. BTW, there's a PT 5.3.1r2 out now (in the download section of Digi's site). >I get wierd sounding glitches sometimes when switching plug ins >or adding sends or even removing sends. I get this too. It sounds like they simply need to increase the mute time a bit during instanciation (normally, they like to keep it as short as possible, so that the plug-ins seem to load fast), This should be a minor tweak for Digi and/or Emagic. >When I save the session the audio stops playing back and I have >to stop then start again. I don't have that one either. That seems like it could be another memory related problem. I don't have the McDSP plug-ins, so I can't comment on that. Haven't there been lots of problems with McDSP plug-ins in the past? Maybe that's the culprit. I really don't think Digidesign would be purposely creating problems. When things don't work right, it costs them money to field the complaints, and just generally reflects poorly on their equipment. Lee Blaske

How are you able to set an exs24tdm instrument to multiple outs ? I can only get multiple outs if I use the native version (which works great). So I use the native version for drums and percussion. I imagine the tdm limitation might be a digi thing. I also noticed that the program change via keyboard commands only works on the native version so I also use the native version for serious auditioning. on editing the instrument, with the zones, and groups, the tdm version has the same boxes for setting a different output per zone, or per group. as i start to grasp tdm more, it seems to me that the only way exs could do multiple outs in tdm is via direct connect? i've been doing a lot in the vst world with drums via waldorf's attack, i'm getting sick of vst though as the attack will often freeze my machine and act wacky when loading my own kits. i think i'm going to go back to separate objects in the arrange per drum instrument, and using the exs/xtreme analog/digital for drum sounds, after all thats nice for muting. :) speaking of which - does anyone have xtreme digital? anyone know where in the states one can buy it? emagicusa.com doesnt have it -Evan --- In logic-tdm@y..., ccrofford <xtopher@s...> wrote: > How are you able to set an exs24tdm instrument to multiple outs ? Not as big a difference as the mic, though. I'd be inclined to start with a good preamp and stick with the 882's stock converters for a while, even if it is pearls before swine. -- Nick Batzdorf 818/905-9101, fax -5434, cell 818/601-4874
