Dont want to be a party pooper, but isnt this a Logic+TDM group?
- M.O.
I cant disagree more : the pod sux big time . why ? = LATENCY !!! any
pod I ever tried even the rack piece= latency ! how can I play live
with latency?????
amp farm = no latency...........at least not discernable to me ( I
know there is also latency there but its so low I can live with it)
anybody wanna buy my brand-new pod2 with bag-manual-papers and all ?
never registered?

Im running HDIII on LAMP. When I set send levels in logic (on reverb one at
the moment) when I reopen the session all programs are set to 100% effect
ignoreing the send level Ive specified. Any ideas?-Lon

Line 6 is a TDM Development partner, and a lot of technology in this
product is from Amp Farm, a guitar amplifier emulation plug-in that
lots of Logic/TDM users have and use. That's why this development is
of interest to many of the folks here.
Outside of making it HD compatible, there hasn't been much
development on the Amp Farm front. Perhaps now that this product is
out, maybe there'll be an Amp Farm II.

I'm fine with HD3 setup. I used PT 5.31 DAE, waves 3.5, Sony HD, FB,CB.

I think that there are millions of combinations between Guit.'s, pickups,
Amps, mics, and even sheilds... and it might be boring with only one
guitar,
I agree, but that probably won't cover 100% of those situations.
I want you all to read between my lines, I didn't say this is the "all
mighty gear".
We coudn't have a situation (tool, gear) that can record with so low noize
and the other stuff that can be possible with Variax, thats the point I said
" the final item ". I tried to say that this might be the final
guitar for
the
missing peice in all Guit.-Rec situations.
What if you want a kind of Guit. that a player didn't bring? It might be
better than
giving up and record it with the guitar that is the there, one powerful sub
guitar
"might" save the problem.
Mr. Hanno wrote about the latency, but there is a way to clear this
because there are totaly 3 outs from Variax, use the main XLR for recording,
use another for the player-monitor, and that monitor can be through any
kind sounded (through Amps), because it won't care for the rec line,
and that means you can make up the sound after the entire play is recorded,
plus, the monitor (amp) can gain up as loud as you want and can even be
played & recorded in the console room with others, there's no pickup
to bother, and to loop up.
You can do this in a regular way (I do now), but its hard to divide the
first out from the guit to do this kind of thing. I take a shield unit with
me
that I made that can fullfill this situation. The player might say the
latency of
Variax is too slow. So, I'll do the regular way.
> I imagine that vintage guitar prices will now sink like rocks.
So, guitars are important samely, and that won't change. It just means
here's comes "another important guitar - one and only" for easy
handling,
and such situations.
If the vintage guitars prices go down, that means those guiarists don't know
the true meaning and capability in those guitars, and that is a nice
"putting out a welcome mat story" for those who really know the
meaning.
:-)
Hope something changes in your Logic life.

sounds interesting, but no feedback? what's the use of playing a guitar that
doesn't feedback? boring... it'll probably be a great axe for those that
enjoy using many sounds with not so much personality, like on a big pop gig
where you have to change guitars every song to play all the parts, but the
players with a true voice on their instrument won't go for this. Oh, how the
digital lifestyle may corrupt the young...

Can anyone tell me why all my AudioSuite plugins are greyed out? Can they
not handle stereo files? Can they not be accessed in a DTDM track edit
window? I haven't tried everything, but there is probably something simple I
am not doing. Yes?
Hope the suggestions I put up last week have been of help to a few of you.

Hi all
I have some clients here who want to move a logic file from mac to PC.
We've done it the other way no problem, but could someone tell me if
it's possible mac->PC. I'm guessing we'd have to convert all the
audio to wav files and rename the logic song .LSO...right?

I think this started happening before digital, perhaps with the advent of
multi-track recording...?

Yes,
If you are using Powerkeys it should be Control+F1. Bu the audio
window needs to be active...

When starting Logic, it goes through all starting phases, then after
instantiating Virus, Logic just crashes with a "try to save your
song".
Finder says a error 3 har occurred.
I have tried to trash the pref file. Logic then boots fine, askes for audio
drivers etc. The next time I start it, Logic crashes again.
This just started two days ago for no good reason.
And I have to use it today...
Any brilliant suggestions?

Did you try (a)rebuilding the desktop (b) running a disk utility (c)
reinstalling the Virus plugin (d)trashing DAE prefs (e) reinstalling DAE
& digi Init ?

A type 3 error is a memory error. Check the memory you have assigned
to Logic and DAE, and try increasing it. You could also have some
faulty memory. Try running a memory test application like Tech Tool.
Also try re-seating your memory sticks (and be sure to treat the edge
connectors with a contact stabilant like Pro Gold [the cloth Pro Gold
wipes are really handy for this]).

In PT i can shift selection all left channels send to left channels of EFX.
(for example, i got 8 BV tracks, i selected all left channels send to M5000
channel 1).
and then options shirt to all send at unity. how can i do in Logic??
i already find a very stupid way to copy plug-ins from 1 channel to others
which force to jumpto audio config window.

Peter:
I recently went through a similar hell after restoring a drive with Disk
Warrior (which rebuilds the directory). It turns out that the floppy disk
authorizations for all the plug-ins that require such were
"separated" from
the invisible key file installed for each during authorization. This may not
be your problem, though you may have a related problem regarding the
authorization for the Virus. For our problem, a call to Digi tech support
yielded the (bizarre) following fix:
Procedure for ³re-connecting² floppy authorizations that
can¹t be located
when DAE is booting up (DAE hangs when trying to load these plugs):
Boot up a copy of Masterlist CD (doesn¹t need to be an authorized copy)
while holding down Command/Option/²4²/²d² keys (that's
four keys atonce).
You can download the copy of Masterlist from the Digi site if you don't have
it. A dialog will pop up, listing your authorizations - "remove"
the problem
ones. This will NOT cause you to lose your floppy authorizations. The next
time you reboot Pro Tools you¹ll be asked to Reauthorize using the
original
authorizer floppies. (This "reconnects" the plug to the authorizer
key
file.)
Note: Amp Farm won¹t show up in the same way, but may prompt you for
reauthorization only when you try to instantiate the plug-in.
Hope this helps.

Dear Logic-TDM Users:
I've been disappointed by the performance of an Aurora Igniter card in a
dual 1gig G4 running Logic 5.1.3 on MIXplus hardware (in a chassis) with OS
9.2.2. If I enable video on both the Mac screen and the television monitor,
I get constant DAE -6042 errors. Reducing the data rate of the captured
video has no effect. Any suggestions before I test Echofire as an
alternative?
Thanks in advance,

Are you using SCSI? If so, getting rid of SCSI and switching to
Firewire drives would help dramatically, because FireWire takes a lot
of pressure off the PCI bus.
If you do decide to try Echofire, let us know how it works out. I
tried it, and had lots of problems with image corruption. For me, it
was unpredictable.
