Anyone know how to make Logic default to having the plug-in window link
"OFF", so you can open more than one at a time? I've re-saved
screensets,
unplugged and re-plugged plug-ins, re-saved my Autoload song, but whenever I
reboot Logic the first plug-in I open always has the link "ON".
Be seeing you,

Close the plugin-window once - it will then open any new plugin-window with
Link off.

No, just open the same song and all your tracks and regions will be there.
Select all the applicable audio track objects in the environment and change
their 'device' values in the parameters window to DAE. You can switch back
and forth this way if you have both drivers selected in Audio HW Driver
settings.
I use this often, for example, to switch tracks to MacAV when my Pbook is
not connected to the chassis. I think the TDM plugins are even recalled when
you switch back to DAE.

I have been an isolated logic user since 97. I am trying to work with
Protool users. Is there a way to share audio and midi files and maintain
song positions? I would love to be able to move back and forth from my home
studio LAM to some Protool Studios (MAC) that do not have LAM?
Any suggestions?
thanks jk

Read the archives as this subject has already been covered in some depth.

Yes, I do this. My grumble is that when you first boot Logic the link is
always "ON". It's a small thing I know, but small stones produce
lasrge
blisters.

I can't fully grasp the importance of them...
To use them with an external effect I still need to use 1 OUT and 2 INS from
my audio
interface. I was already doing this before I/O and assigning my External
Multifx to a bus
and sending audio from audio tracks to that bus...
I'm I missing a really cool way to use this new feature?
Thanks for you help!

hello all,
I have been getting DAE errors -9007(something about not able to create a
mix channel?) and error -9013? Anyone ran into this problem as well?
It seem to start when I went to 5.1 DAE from 5.01?
I am running a 9600 with 9.04os-4.7 LAM with PTIII (one farm and one I/O) I
have trash the Digisetup prefs and
Logics as well.
I was running previously LAM 4.63 with 5.01 Dae -no errors..??
Thanxs for all help!

It just makes it easier to patch an external device across an audio track -
say a compressor or equaliser. Previously you had to route the track to an
Output, then create an Input object for the return.

I think you get this when your TDM system is maxxed out. Sometimes, if your
song is very full of TDM stuff, when you re-open it the plug-ins can't be
allocated to the cards correctly, and something doesn't get instanciated.
But I've found that (unless there's something obvious missing, like a
plug-in) the "mix channels" are all there. The only thing I've
noticed is
that sometimes the settings on some plug-ins revert to their default state,
so it's worth checking these.

Hi!
When I have it activated I get a "too much system ressources used"
error when playing back a
region which contains sys-ex data (in that case for Lexicon PCM-80/90).
If I turn it off this works well as before.
BTW: How do I get busses 33-64? Only busses 1-32 show up on my system...
(I trashed preferences and built a fresh autoload.)
System:
Mac G3-300 beige, ProTools Mix-Plus / 3 DSP-farms, MacOS 9.1, PT (DAE/DSI)
5.1, LAPM 4.7,
MTP-AV on modem port (serial)

Hi!
The old Logic Audio / xBank bug is back: In the matrix editor the
"McDSP Stereo Graphics" are
back.
Also: The status of the stereo-couple of Compressorbank is not saved
properly (it´s always off
after loading a song) and sometimes the post-compressor eq has to be turned
off and on again to
work in CB3.
BTW: Colin, when can we expect your Analog Channel?

--ALthough ya know, I get this error right when I launch Logic....you can
see it loading-plugs and etc....then bam! the error-9007. There is no
plugins set or anything in the autoload?
Thanxs-
???

That is too sick! For some reason, I expected it be more difficult.
Liking Logic..
For anyone coming over from Cubase, the first line of the FAQ should
read: "Click AND HOLD on track names to switch devices." This
drove
me nuts for a few minutes last night. But once I realized that one
has to setup one's Environment (akin to setting up OMS) before
working, everything fell into place. The so-called "learning
curve"
of Logic really isn't that bad.
By the time I get my manuals in the mail, I probably won't need them. :)

Do Logic's native and TDM plug-ins keep the same values as well going from
native to TDM? How about Waves?

I definitely agree!!!!!

And I'm _still_ waiting for my Sunsyn to arrive....
(luckily it's a great synth so it's worth waiting for)
Andromeda is great as well!!!
And also for basses, but a monophonic synth: Studio Electronics SE-1(x).
also try the Yamaha TX 816 rack....8 DX7 playing 1 bass note....

I used to get this sometimes as well and it took me days to figure it out.
Most of the time it is a plug in that has been instanciated incorrectly
mostly on the mac side as opposed to the dae side.
In my case I found that it was the waves rennasaise compressor plug in that
was the culprit.
Take all your plugins out of the plugin folders(VST included) and add a few
at a time to figure out which plug it is.
When you find out which plug it is you might have to disable the plug and
then re plug it back.
I hope this works......it did for me ....and I remember how badly it
affected me to have to restart the computer all the time.

Yes, also for quickpatching through synths with analog ins, like the Virus
and NordModular. What differs from inserts on real mixers is that you can do
this on many channels, and the same return will come back all over the
place. Then it will be better setting it up as a regular aux.

...Seems to be real:
I was told by our local distributor that it will be available in late April
The price should be, more or less, 340 euros + v.a.t.
