Are you using TDM? The TDM side of Logic doesn't support offline bouncing
(you wouldn't be able to select it anyway), only realtime. Also I doubt TDM
would support the normalise function. So best try it without normalise and
realtime.
I tried realtime and it worked. But it took very very long.
I have saved in offline before and it worked fine, for some reason
(probably one of the audio files) this time it gave me the 32bit message.

Kontakt, Structure, MachFive2, Halion), or sample loops, this is a great
opportunity to see the most innovative world class sampling tools available
today, presented directly by the director of technical development at
Redmatica.
After each presentation, an informal Q&A session will give you all the
answers
you need.
Who Should Attend:
---Any Logic Pro 8 and Mainstage user
---Anyone using or considering the purchase of a software sampler
(i.e. Kontakt, Mach5, Structure, Halion etc.)
---Any producer or sound-designer who wants to think outside
the box in terms of new sound creation

Hi! I'm new in this forum. Hope some one can help. I want to know if the
Muto 828 firewire is compatible with latest Logic and the mac mini. I'm
using now M-Audio but since I have to different system one PC and the mac, I
woul like to use my other firewire 828 for my mac. I did not find the answer
yet. Thanks.

This list is for users of TDM hardware. There is
a more general purpose Logic list at yahoogroups.com
called logic-users that you ought to join.
MOTU does indeed have CoreAudio drivers for the Mac
(for all their audio interfaces), and Logic supports all that.

I am currently using Logic 7.2 with Pro Tools 7.1. Would like to upgrade
Tools but am always wary of changing anything that is currently working. Is
anybody using 7.4 with Logic 7? I definately do not want to go to logic 8
yet. Thanks in advance for your help.

Hello,
I need to reinstall my system on a G5 2ghz Dual.
I worked on Tiger LP 7 and PT 7.1 so far.
It was more or less ok. Some crashes on Logic.
Any experience on Logic 8 and TDM?
Is it stable. Do I need PT 7.4?
Can I use Leopard, or do I have to use Tiger?
Thanks

Hello,

PT HD2 PCI.
I worked on Tiger, PT 7.1 and LP 7 so far.
That was, well more or less ok. Some crashes on Logic every now and then.
Is there any experience with LP 8 and TDM?

Hi there,
I'm supposed to mix some work in a big studio with ProTools 6.2.3 - I have
ProTools latest
CoreAudio manager 7.4 installed. Last night it was working fine. Withoput
any changes that
I'm aware of this morning the Digi CoreAudio manager reports a status : Not
Connected (HW
in use) error.
Any ideas what causes this? Help is much appreciated....
Best

Hi Jürgen,
Digi HW can only be used by either ProTools OR Core Audio.
Check your system audio prefs.
Don't use Digi as Core in or out.
Otherwise, just restart your engine and turn on your Interface before.

Ingo,
very very strange - I believe I checked everything well. From what I read in
this forum (I
am totally new here since today) there are a lot of different problems for
different
people... very discouraging to switch to ProTools hardware. But for film
mixing stages
there aren't 10 choices...
So the assistant called and said that I should just swap the connectors of
the Rosetta 800
racks connected to the 2 HD cards and that would do the trick. It did.
Without knowing
why and what was wrong.
Thanks Ingo, very kind to reply so fast! I will read the posts here very
carefully in the
future! - And stick to my beloved Metric Halo interface for my
"small" personal work and
project preparation :-)
Best

Hi Jurgen...
There are other programs that access Core audio, such as quicktime, Itunes
etc. They should auto quit core audio after you quit the program but some do
some don't. If the Core audio icon is in your dock you will need to quit
that
before you boot or you will get the HW already in use error.

Hi,
I've just installed Logic 8 and everything seems to be working apart from
the surround capabilites. I can't open the surround panner (double clicking
on the small panning tool loads the bigger version for a split second but
then it disappears)
Also, I'm running a Logic/TDM system and although I can get the surround
function working in Pro Tools, Logic seems to be putting the whole set up in
reverse. By that I mean that when I move the small green panning spot to
front centre, the centre speaker's volume turns down, and when I move the
pan dot away from the centre field the centre speaker's volume rises to
full.
This is happening with all the other speakers - panning to front left
actually outputs to the right surround speaker - but I have managed to set
up the surround outputs in a way that overcomes this problem. No such luck
for the centre speaker though - I was wondering if anyone else had come
across this problem.

There's a bug whereby the CoreAudio driver "steals" the Digi
hardware
even though it doesn't look that way.
Applications > Utilities > Audio/MIDI setup
Even though the default and system output might say "built in
audio",
you sometimes have to deselect it (and choose Digi hardware) and
then RESELECT "built-in audio".

I just installed PTHD3 (PT 7.4) cards into my G5 Quad and am using an Aurora
16 for converters. I had to remove my Apogee Symphony card with 16ADX
&
16DAX converters to fit the PTHD3 cards in. In addition to using PT for
sessions I want to continue to use Logic Pro 8 and access my 16 Aurora I/Os
via the Digi interface. LP8 will only recognize 8 of my Aurora I/Os. I
really need all 16. I must be missing something! Any help is greatly
appreciated,
Thanks all! Great help... although it makes me feel weird to use such
"sensitive" software
in 2008.

The Digi CoreAudio driver only supports 8 I/O, and doesn't
address the DSP (TDM) on the cards either.
The DAE driver supports all your I/O, and supports TDM.
Use DAE in conjunction with the DTDM driver (this gives
the native support).

Anyone had this happen to them? I am about to buy a G5, but was told to

working. Extensive reports on this on the web, but wondering about

Hi,
can anybody please tell me, how tap tempo works in logic 8?
I opened Keyboard Shortcuts and gave tap tempo a button on my keyboard.
However Tap Tempo has a dot in front of it.
If I use the button inthe session. No reaction.
Thanks

Hi Greg - it's total rubbish unless i've been very lucky!!
I have been using a G5 dual 2.7 for 3 years now without any problems -
certainly far fewer
than those new intel machines which don't work with anything yet!!
MY set up - dual 27 ppc - protools HD2 accel Logic 8 using DTDM and DAE (no
core audio)
The new autoload in logic 8 is fantastic and once it's configured it seems
very stable. (
protools 7.41 installed)
I recently bought another dual 2.7 and it's equally good,

My G5 Dual 2.7 was a great machine (so is my 8 core Mac Pro!)

This is a classic example of apple/logic having its head you know
where by including functions that are mysterious to activate or
employ. This should just work, out of the box, maybe via a tap tempo
button on the transport. you don't have to create a key command for
"Play" right? I read a tutorial on the web but still didn't have
the
patience to get it to work. I just opened protools and used the
identify beat command to ID the tempo of the temp track I was
replacing. I think you need to assign a different key as the midi
trigger and then press your tap tempo key command and then tap the
assigned midi key. If you figure it out please let me know!

Okay,
thank god, I found out by myself.
Set "synchronization" to "manual"!!
And then use your tap shortcut.
Don't ask me, where I found "sychronizaion".
Somehow through midi preferences...
