Sorry-next time I'll look at all the posts before replying.Lee,I'll try your
"include assets
fix"-sounds like a good one.Even before trying it-feels like the right
kind of Logic fix!!
cheers

ps-OT-I can post a recent autoload,or rather, would be curious to see how

Although I recently migrated to a Apogee/Symphony sollution, let me
just chime in with my experiences regarding recording paths in L8.
It seems that your autoload needs to have "No Audio Recording
Path"
selected under settings/recording for logic to "autodirect" your
audio to the relevant folder. If something is selected there it
defenitely goes there AND get's copied to the relevant project folder
when you hit save. Defenitely not good if it, as in my case, ends up
on the desktop, in terms of disc effiency and so forth...
I ended up creating a whole new autoload to get back to "No Audio
Recording Path". But then I heard from Jim F @ sonikmatter that all
you need to do is open your autoload and uncheck "include assets"
and
save the autoload again!
Now, how this relates to the DAE past 33, 65 etc. I don't know but it
might be relevant. I'll keep my TDM rig on Logic 7.

Anyone know if I absolutely have to upgrade to Logic 8 to use PT
7.4? Or will PT 7.4 work with my 7.2.3 version of Logic? Thanks!
Works for me thus far.

Yup.
On a G5 though, if that is significant.
Dual 2ghz, 6gb ram.
I do have 8 installed but I've gone back to using Logic 7.2.3 because
I am finishing a huge project and prefer to stick with what I am
familiar with.
No issues thus far- well no new ones.

One interesting observation on a core audio mac: As you move a
project folder (that has been set to include external audio files
under assets) around to different locations, and check the Core audio
Recording Path, this path dynamically updates to reflect the current
location of the Audio Files folder within your project folder,
wherever you may have moved it...

Installed PT 7.4 today hoping that it would fix all the past problems with
the DTDM not being able to work successfully. Since installing PT 7.4 i've
had serious problems.
Firstly protools does not load up without crashing (I'm getting DAE error
-4)
Secondly Logic can no longer select DAE as an option within the "Audio
Hardware & drivers" page. Also if i run logic in core audio it no
longer
finds the digidesign 192 (digidesign HW) in the list of output devices. I
now have a system where i'm unable to record a single thing either within
protools or logic.
I was under the impression that everything would be sorted with this release
of protools however since installing it i've had a serious amount of grief.
I'm going to run the uninstaller later on tonight and see if this fixes all
of the problems. And i'm also going to check that my mac is up2date via
software update. I've also been looking for the lastest version of the
digidesign core audio driver so that i can run logic natively via the 192
but there doesn't seem to be an update available with 7.4. Does anyone else
have any feedback on this setup or situation.
P.S intel mac quad mac os 10.4.10, Logic 8.0.0 PT 7.4
I have a friend who went through this not so long ago... HE said that the
only way to get them both to work was to have Logic and Pro Tools on
different partitions. Don`t know why but he said the same thing that you
said...
Good luck...

Hi!
I am having problems with my Logic Pro 7. I use a PowerBook G4 and have 1.25
GB with 75 remaining at present.
When I have approximately more than 4 Audio tracks running at one time (with
plugins) the computer says "coreaudio oevrload". In audio
preferences I have
increased my buffer to 1024, enabled "larger disc buffer" and have
everything onto maximum response mode but it doesn't seem to help.
The only thing is that when I start up Logic it always says: - "DAE
folder
in system folder not found" and then ""ESB TDM" plug- in
not found (-10800)"
I wondered maybe this is the problem? I read the manual but can't seem to
find any clarity with what i am doing wrong.
I use a M-Audio Firewire 410 interface and that's it for hardware.
Should I reinstall Logic? Have I accidently deleted these folders? No idea
what they are anyway!
Can anyone help? It's very frustrating as it stalls every 8 bars or so and i
can't compose like this!!!
Thanks alot in advance!
:) Katarina
Make sure you do not have DAE active in the audio setup
You only want Core Audio active

Is it still there in L8? How about with PT7.4? With Intel Macs?
Thinking about upgrading, and I can't take it anymore. Might be a
Symphony System in my future.

In "Audio Hardware and Drivers" : make sure you don't have DAE and
DTDM turned on - these will only work with ProTools HD hardware, but for
your setup Core Audio alone will work fine.
Dom
Not sure about Intel-Mac, but it still happens on G5 from time to time.

Hey,
I have disabled them which has definitely helped but I just loaded up a drum
sample in the audio window and only 4 seperate midi tracks and then the
error messege came up core audio: system overload the audio engine was not
able to process all the data in time. (-100011).
Can you help?
Thanks again.
Thank you so much!
:)
Try lower cache ( 256 mb) turn off larger disk buffer

Does Logic have this feature to save it's own *ss everytime it crashes?

Yes, but some crashes are so pervasive as to break the
auto-save feature, so it's not fool-proof for obvious reasons.

Yes plus one on that. Shouldn¹t tis be a little more advanced at this
